Strength TogetHER 9- Cohort 2

19th December,2020.

Stop watering the dead plant cause you can use that water for some lively plant.

Facilitated by LOKOPAKAR,  youth organization which focuses on the development of youth personally and professionally in Nepal, Strength togetHER virtual program is created especially for girls and young women of different mindsets and backgrounds. During the sessions, they all come together to share various views, ideas, perspectives, experiences, and stories. This space helps them to grow as individuals by creating a platform to be themselves, talk about their issues, and find solutions to their problems.

On 19th december 2020 we gathered at around 3 pm via zoom. The session was started with an active participants of around 20 girls. All the participants were really excited to share their story of the time they stopped watering the dead plant and started their journey of self love. It was an interactive session which went till 4:20 pm.

The session was only possible due to the love and support of our moderator Miss Swastika Dangal. She is an undergraduate student at Kathmandu School of Law. She has worked in her project "Women's Right Starts at Home(related to menstrual health hygiene and taboos) and Let's Talk:Let's get embarrassed (related to sex education). She is extremely friendly , energetic and prefers reading fictional book and watching movies related to crime.

Our moderator created a suitable environment for participants to share their things.

Best friend are someone who are the important part of life but there are many people who are betrayed by the people whom they used to call their best friend.

• Four of our speakers  shared their story of the time when they were betrayed by their best friend. Although they experienced different form of it, the pain they got was similar.

• Our fifth speaker shared her story in which she faced discrimination from her grandfather for being a girl. She tried her best to be capable enough to receive love from them but was never appreciated.

• Our sixth speaker told us one incident in which she felt getting stuck in peer pressure. She was blackmailed by one of her friend which added toxicity in her life.

These all incidents made our speaker realize the importance of letting go some toxic people from their life. Also our moderator shared a common story which was an exact replica of what the speakers had said.

These 80 minutes session help us reach some conclusion which are listed below:

1. Learn the art of letting go the toxic relationship.
2. Focus on the things that gives you happiness.
3. Leaving toxic people is like giving opportunity for others to enter in your territory.
4. Letting go is the part of self love.
5. Out of 100 only 10% people are there who genuinely care about you.Hold them in your life.
6. Don't connect with people because of loneliness.
7. Letting go means complete removal of person from your life in the way that memories also fade away.
8. Hold those people who put effort and care about you.
9. Sometime you may be the toxic one.At that time realization is the must.
10. Self love is a slow process and it requires time.

The session felt really important in the life of young girl like us and we experienced a huge change in ourselves after the session.

At last, we took a screenshot in order to have a sweet memory of the time we had spent together sharing an emotional bond.Lastly we bid goodbye to each other with a positive attitude and realization about importance of self priority.
